KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has requested that the Indonesian government reconsider its decision to stop supplying maids to Malaysia. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said there are still room for both countries to discuss the matter. "I believe the Indonesian government should reconsider their decision.. I was only informed about this through the media. "I need to obtain details of these new terms, especially if the minimum wage stated is different from what we have agreed upon before," he told the media after officiating the Rapat Alumni Nusantara conference today. Zahid said he would also invite Indonesia’s Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Muhammad Hanif Dhakiri to discuss further the subject of supplying foreign workers to Malaysia. "I has been discussing the matter informally with the Indonesian ambassador in Malaysia. If we have time, I will invite Haniff to negotiate on this.," he said, adding that if the need arises, Malaysia would seek a meeting with Indonesian president Joko Widodo
